MLM Marketing Versus Prospecting - 3 Money Making Differences
There are really two schools in MLM Network Marketing. The traditional school of MLM teaches you to go make a list of names and start calling everyone you know. And now there’s an emerging trend in MLM that is teaching people to use marketing to build their businesses. 1) MLM Prospecting puts you on the spot, but Marketing takes you out of the equation. Based on my experience, I would say that 90-95% of people in network marketing hate prospecting, sales, and closing. I suppose that’s why 95% or so of network marketers don’t have a business that makes money. Talking to uninterested or unmotivated people is pretty hard. And it’s even harder if you don’t really want to believe that Network Marketing is a Sales business. People just don’t want to do selling and I don’t blame them. MLM’s newest generation has discovered that real marketing takes them out of the equation. Marketing their business allows them to only work with the most interested people, and creates a steady stream of hungry, qualified interested people to work with. 2) Prospecting Adds Sales – Marketing Multiplies Sales. If you’re a really great prospector you could probably close 1 or 2 new people a day. But to do that you would be taking massive personal action and you’d be talking to hundreds of people a week. If you have a great marketing system in place, you could be closing 3-5 people a day without talking to anyone. It can happen this way, because there are millions of people in network marketing, and thousands of people every day are looking for information about this industry. A person with the right message at the right time knows how to tap into that demand. Good Marketing Allows you to do this. 3) Prospecting Conversations Vary – Marketing Converts Scientifically. When you prospect in person there are many variables that determine how effective you’re going to be. How you feel, your level of motivation, how well you give your presentation, etc… all these have an impact on your ability to make a sale. When you market your business, you eliminate yourself from the picture which makes your marketing effectiveness predictable. For example, I have a webpage that converts at 51%.
