This secret certainly isn't surprising or awe-inspiring, but it is a secret that many marketers don't think about the importance of. Think about it, there are millions of Internet marketers trying to get people to buy from them. The competition for customers is huge, and the work is hard. Now, if you are going to market a product/service, you need to find something that is different from everything else you see being marketed on the web. Why sell something similar to someone else? If you are unique in what you sell, you will attract a bigger market.

Don't follow the same set of rules that all the Internet gurus follow. There is no reason to stay in the mold. You will never get anywhere that way. Do something completely different from other marketers. Offer something no one else does with his or her products. You don't want to follow what everyone else is doing. You want to stand out in the crowd and become known.

For example, a paperboy goes around to every door every morning delivering papers. It is a good job, but he knows that the tips are what count. So, he decides to give out a Christmas card to everyone on his route. Do you think that those customers expect to get a Christmas card from their paperboy? They will certainly think about tipping this boy now.
